Isa Mazzocchi’s simple and quick cuisine comes from the tradition that has been passed on to her from her parents and their restaurant, but that it’s also been enirichened by her personal experiences; one above all her relationship with chef Georges Cogny, that has inspired loads of her recipes. Her restaurant La Palta is a mixture of all these elements, that Isa has decided to showcase in her first recipe book. Recipes that tell the story of a rebellious young woman, born in a small countryside town, that knew nothing about the noble cuisine. It tells the story of a strenuous present, filled with amazing results, and of a future that is yet to be built, but already with some ideas in mind.
Born in 1968, she studied at the Magnaghi culinary school in Salsomaggiore Terme and worked for two years with chef Georges Cogny. In 1989 she took over the management of her parents’ restaurant together with her sister Monica and her husband Roberto, building what it’s now called La Palta. Throughout her career she’s never stopped challenging herself, joining loads of different formative experiences in different prestigious kitchens. In 2004 she was nominated emerging chef in Emilia Romagna, in 2011 she got her first Michelin star, and in 2021 she won the Premio Michelin Chef Donna 2021 by Veuve Clicquot. ISA is her first book published by Trenta Editore.
